New Comic Shop & Rogue Toys & A Record Shop!

A while back, we stopped into one of the three Rogue Toys here in Vegas. Rogue Toys, if you've never been, is a shop full of geeky, nostalgic goodness in a range of both accessible and collector prices. When I say they have everything, it's not an exaggeration. From Star Wars to Barbie, to old McDonald's Happy Meal Toys, to comic books (individual and slabbed), to Funko Pops, to rare vintage finds, to Legos! Speaking of Legos, they have a giant bin from which you can scoop into a container for a set price. On this day, we were at the location on Rainbow Blvd.
After some time of flipping through hundreds of comics, in a little room tucked away in the back of the shop, we had our picks. I purchased 4 for $10 of random comics, and Jason purchased a graded version of a childhood comic he owns: Classic X-Men. As we paid, the gentleman at the counter struck up a conversation with us. We had a great talk about comics and the locations of Rogue Toys. He also mentioned the graded X-Men comic was from Red Hood Comics, which was currently an online comic source but would be opening a brick-and-mortar here in Vegas next month!
Fast forward to February 8th, Red Hood Comics' grand opening! Their brick-and-mortar location is on South Decatur in the Charleston Heights Shopping Center. As we entered, we were greeted by rows of beautiful, wood, red-stained comic bins. I believe there were five, and the rows extended from front to back. The walls were fully lined from top to bottom with J hooks that held every graded comic book imaginable.

We weren't sure what to expect, and we made the mistake of bringing the kiddos. This is a fantastic comic shop, but it's for collectors, not kids. From what I can see, all of the binned comics ranged from $20 to $50 on average. Still, my 3-year-old had fun walking along the graded comic book wall, pointing out all of his favorite characters. To my surprise, he was especially impressed with the selection of Venom comics. I had no idea he loved Venom!
If you're a collector in Vegas, visiting this shop is an absolute must! If you have kiddos, though, they'll love Rogue Toys as they have the 4 for $10 comics selection and a Lego bin, of course.
While Jason perused the comics, the kids became restless, and I took them outside, at which point I noticed there was a record shop next door! It was a happy accident but a fantastic discovery!
We walked in, and there was a DJ playing right next to a Street Fighter arcade game. What!?!?
Did the kids and I just find a little slice of haven? No coins required, the boys got to work quickly fighting with each other the only way they're allowed to. I browsed through the records pretty quickly, as I was not planning on purchasing, but just taking note for the future. I also noticed they had an entire wall of CDs.
The entire shopping center is really a collector's paradise. You can find comics, records, antiques, and rare coins. Whether you're visiting or looking for a weekend activity, you can immerse yourself for an entire afternoon or even a full day exploring every kind of treasure imaginable.
